Merridee received her PhD in 2021 from the University of Texas at San Antonio under the mentorship of Matthew Wanat. While in graduate school, she investigated the role of the dopamine system and other brain regions in acquiring and updating reward value. In the Moghaddam lab, Merridee is interested in parsing the competing contribution of VTA dopamine and GABA neurons in encoding reward and punishment.
